Heidelberg University seeks a Registrar to provide leadership in an office committed to maintaining the integrity of academic records in a student-focused environment.  The Registrar reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Specific responsibilities include: 
  • direct involvement in management of academic data
  • completion of registration related reports for IPEDs, Clearinghouse, and NCAA
  • coordination of class schedule
  • oversight of registration process including new students
  • preparation of credit evaluations and graduation audits
  • development of course equivalencies for articulation agreements
  • communication of policies related to academic matters
  • revision of catalog
  • supervision of staff
  • member of curriculum committees
 
Qualifications: Master’s Degree and at least 3 years of experience in a Registrar’s Office preferred. Experience with Banner database programs is required. We seek an individual with strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with multiple offices and individuals, analytical skills, ability to use reporting software packages, experience with on-line registration, understanding of FERPA regulations, experience with development of materials and training related to academic advising & registration, budget management, and staff supervisory skills.

Director of Recruitment for Graduate and Adult Programs

The Director of Recruitment serves as a member of the Enrollment and Marketing Division. The Director of Recruitment shall provide leadership and manage all aspects of admission work for the University’s graduate and degree completion programs including managing inquiries to enrolled, overseeing application processing, developing recruitment and marketing plan with best practices and strategies, implementing marketing communication plan, coordination and collaboration with faculty, institutional departments (registrar, financial aid, undergraduate admission, student accounts, student affairs, dean for graduate programs, communication and marketing, etc.) and assume overall responsibility for achieving enrollment goals for the graduate and degree completion programs.

 
QUALIFICATIONS

The Director of Recruitment must have the ability to work well and communicate clearly with others, work well under deadline pressure, handle multiple tasks and work both in a team situation and independently, as the situation requires. Minimum academic credentials include a bachelor degree and preferred masters with 5 to 7 years experience in higher ed. admissions, marketing or management in corporate or public organization (s). Preference will be given to candidates with admission and enrollment experience with graduate and adult programs.

ACCOUNTABILITY      
 
The Director of Recruitment shall report directly to the VP for Enrollment and Marketing and shall be evaluated primarily on success in growing and stabilizing graduate and degree completion programs’ enrollments.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To develop a recruitment plan to attract and enroll adult learners and non-traditional students into graduate and degree completion programs.
  • To develop and implement marketing communication plan targeting adult learners and graduate students.
  • To streamline and automate admissions processing operations.
  • To establish networks of support with local businesses, agencies and organizations to promote the programs.
  • To actively recruit by attending local college fairs and visiting community college sites.
  • To work collaboratively and cooperatively with other campus departments to effectively coordinate and execute best practices and strategies.
  • To participate in local, regional and national professional organizations.
  • To assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the VP for Enrollment and Marketing.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

  • To grow and stabilize enrollment.
  • To grow and stabilize net tuition revenue.
  • To increase market share of adult learner population

Assistant Professor, Computer Science (information systems focus)
The Heidelberg University Department of Computer Science seeks candidates with a CIS or MIS background for a tenure-track appointment; a start date as early as January 2010 is possible. Teaching assignments will include both introductory and upper-level courses such as computer literacy and MS Office applications, the ACM CS0/CS1 sequence, management information systems, systems analysis, and database management.  The candidate may also have the opportunity to develop new courses in areas of interest that complement the existing curriculum. The successful candidate will be a generalist who demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.  Preference will be given to candidates with an earned doctorate in information systems, computer science or a closely related field.
