Graduate on Time

Seeing Your Advisor

You will be assigned to an advisor your first semester at Heidelberg College. After completion of the semester you are welcome to select a new advisor if you wish. You are encouraged to work with a faculty advisor in your major. All students are encouraged to meet with their advisor prior to registration each semester. New, first-time college students and students on academic probation are required to meet with their advisor and obtain a registration PIN prior to registration.

Most students meet with their advisor during orientation. You should plan to meet with your advisor when you get to campus. Your assigned faculty advisor’s name can be found in OASIS2 in your student information menu under your student records.

Advisors can assist you in choosing classes that meet the needs of your chosen major. In addition, advisors are good mentors and offer valuable career information and experience. One of the many benefits of choosing a college with low student to faculty ratios is being able to build valuable relationships and begin the networking process in your chosen field.

Your Degree Audit

In the spring of your junior year, you will receive a graduation information “orange” card to return to the Office of the Registrar indicating your intention to graduate during the following academic year. Students who return this card to the Office of the Registrar will receive an official graduation summary at the beginning of the Fall semester to ensure you are on track to graduate as planned.

Prior to receiving your senior graduation summary, you are expected to track your progress toward your degree using any of the following resources: the college catalog or your advisor. MAPs can be used for guidance. The college catalog is the primary source for major and curriculum information. If you have any questions about the degree requirements at Heidelberg College, consult your college catalog first!

Graduation Application

To apply for graduation, both graduate and undergraduate students must submit a graduation application by the stated due date. The application form will be placed in student mailboxes (Tiffin undergraduates who have returned their orange graduation information card) or sent to the mailing address on file for graduate students, Arrowhead Park students and Adult non-traditional students.

Additional information pertaining to commencement and diploma distribution policies is available through the Office of the Registrar.
