Finance Minor

The finance minor is designed to provide students with a fundamental understanding of how to analyze financial decisions and to consider risks so that financial capital is efficiently managed.  The required finance course work exposes students and three main fields of finance.  These are corporate finance, financial institutions and investments. The minor includes fundamental managerial finance, financial markets and institutions and investment theory and practice.

Curriculum

Candidates for either the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree must satisfy the general education requirements of the degree. These courses are designed to provide a broad liberal arts background and skills specific to the particular degree program. Please refer to the course catalog for specific requirements and details.

Opportunities

Internships provide interesting "hands-on" experience to juniors and seniors with a GPA of 2.5 or above. The academic program is supplemented by an active Heidelberg Business Club with plant visits and campus speakers. A business honorary is open to those who have completed 20 hours in the department and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Placement

Ninety-five percent of Heidelberg's graduating students find employment in a position of their choice or enter graduate school within six months of graduation. Recent graduates in Business Administration, Accounting and Economics include students who began their careers at:
