Chemistry Minor

The Chemistry minor best complements pre-health and biology majors. Almost every professional health college (schools of medicine, nursing, nursing schools, optometry, dentistry, podiatry, chiropractic medicine, etc.) requires all the courses in the chemistry minor as well as a few additional chemistry courses.

Chemistry minors must take the following courses:
CHM 111 and CHM 112 – General Chemistry
CHM 201 – Organic Chemistry
8 additional CHM semester hours (excluding CHM 100 and CHM 103)

Special Notes:

  • All students must complete the General Education requirements for the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees that are described in the college catalog. Each degree requires students to take courses in the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, cultures and mathematics. These courses are designed to provide a broad liberal arts background and skills specific to the particular degree program.
