Computer Science Department
The Department of Computer Science at Heidelberg offers two majors devoted to the study of computing and information technologies. Graduates of the department are well prepared to enter a wide variety of careers where computing systems are important.
A major in either computer science or computer information systems will prepare you with a fundamental, yet broad-based skill set that will enable you both to meet today's IT demands and adapt quickly to the technology management challenges of tomorrow. Our graduates have successful careers in network management, software engineering, systems administration, and Internet and e-commerce development.
Our faculty are actively engaged in the department and the community and have extensive real-world experience in software development and IT management.
Our technology-rich campus offers students high-speed Internet connections in every residence hall room, modern computing laboratories, and wireless access. Located in the recently renovated Bareis Hall of Science, the department boasts state-of-the-art classroom facilities and an advanced computing laboratory for use by computer science and information systems students for their coursework and independent study projects.
If you would like to learn more about our department or its programs, feel free to schedule a campus visit, speak with our faculty, and sit in on a class or two. We'd be happy to welcome you to the department!
