Minor Requirements
The Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences also offers a minor in Environmental Studies that complements a number of other majors, including Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Economics, International Studies and Political Science.
Environmental Studies minors must take:
- ENS 101 - Introduction to Environmental Science and
ENS 101L - Environmental Science Laboratory - PHI 216 – Ethics
- GEO 201 – Environmental Geology
In addition, minors must take at least 8 semester hours from:
- BIO 124 – Biology II and Lab
- BIO 213 – Field Biology
- CHM 111 – General Chemistry
- GEO 305 and/or GEO 306 – Regional Field Geology
- ENS 361 – Environmental Law and Regulations
- ECO 344 – Environmental and Natural Resource Economics
- Other courses as approved by the Environmental Science Curriculum Committee
Special Notes
- All students must complete the General Education requirements for the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees that are described in the college catalog. Each degree requires students to take courses in the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, cultures and mathematics. These courses are designed to provide a broad liberal arts background and skills specific to the particular degree program.
- Students majoring in Environmental Science may not also minor in Environmental Studies.
