Honor Society
Heidelberg’s Chi Psi chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, a national Spanish Honor Society, recognizes and encourages high academic achievement in Spanish. The Sigma Delta Pi initiation occurs each spring. In order to be eligible, students must have completed 18 semester hours of college-level Spanish, including at least 3 semester hours in Hispanic literature or Hispanic culture and civilization at the junior (third-year) level. Candidates must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all Spanish courses taken, rank in the upper 35 percent of their class and have completed at least 3 semesters of college work.
Prize
The Lenore Osterholm Prize in Spanish is an annual cash award presented to the two students who have achieved the highest grades in Spanish above the 200 level.
