Study Abroad Opportunities for Spanish Students

The study abroad experience is a cornerstone of the Spanish program at Heidelberg. At the 'Berg, all of our Spanish majors spend at least one semester abroad, living with a host family and studying in a Spanish-speaking country. We believe that a total immersion experience abroad is the best way not only to become fluent in the language, but also to feel completely at home in the host culture.

During your semester or academic year abroad, you will have the opportunity to live the cultural experiences that many students only read about in their textbooks, at a cost that is comparable to spending a semester on our home campus in Tiffin, Ohio.

Most 'Berg Spanish students complete their study abroad requirement in Spain, Mexico, or Argentina. However, the faculty will work with students interested in other Spanish-speaking destinations to find suitable study abroad programs in those countries as well.
