Bachelor of Music
The Bachelor of Music degree programs provide professional training for students who are dedicated to careers as professional performers, music educators and composers, among other areas. These degree programs offer a significantly higher number of hours devoted to the study of music; as a result, they cannot be combined with a second major within the traditional four-year study plan. Students who are interested in double majors involving music should investigate the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree options, or plan for additional semesters of study.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Music degree programs are very interested in graduate study; many pursue this option shortly after graduation. Heidelberg's Music Education program allows graduates to qualify for entry-level positions in the public and private schools. At some point in their careers, they too will pursue graduate study.
Heidelberg College offers four options under the Bachelor of Music program:
- Bachelor of Music: Performance (Woodwinds/Brass/Percussion; Strings; Keyboard; Voice)
- Bachelor of Music: Music Education (Instrumental; Strings; Keyboard, Voice)
- Bachelor of Music: Theory/Composition
- Bachelor of Music with an Emphasis in Music Industry
