College-Community Chorus:
The Heidelberg College Community Chorus, founded in 1992, is a 60 to 80 voice mixed chorus comprised of singers from both Heidelberg College and the surrounding community. The ensemble continues to meet its goal of enriching the community through concert performance and choral music education. In addition to presenting regularly scheduled concerts, members of the chorus perform in the college's annual Messiah concert.

Singing Collegians:
The Singing Collegians is a vocal chamber group designed for students interested in studying repertoire drawn from the popular music tradition. Participants are chosen at a spring audition from the membership of the Concert Choir and the College-Community Chorus. The group performs a variety of musical styles including popular, jazz, and Broadway standards.

Heidelberg Instrumental Ensembles

College-Community Orchestra: The College-Community Orchestra includes fine musicians from the College and its surrounding community. Repertoire is drawn from standard symphonic literature, utilizing both chamber and full orchestrations. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings with sectionals on Friday afternoons. The ensemble performs at least twice each semester. Admission by audition or permission, and students register for one credit hour.

Symphonic Band:
The Symphonic Band is made up of talented musicians selected by audition from the entire college population. The band performs regularly scheduled campus concerts, as well as festival, convention, and tour concerts on occasion. Literature is chosen from standard and contemporary band repertoire, utilizing various instrumental combinations. Three rehearsals a week and participants register for one hour of credit. Participation in Pep Band is required, unless excused.

Athletic Band: Performances at home football games and the New Student Assembly consist of popular music from recent decades. It is open to all students and no audition is required. All rehearsals are scheduled the week before classes begin in the fall.

Jazz Band:
Open to students desiring experience in the Jazz idiom. In addition to contemporary styles, traditional styles are learned and performed. Admission is by audition. Ability to improvise is not necessary. Woodwind and brass players are chosen from the Symphonic band. The group rehearses twice a week.

Small Ensembles: Active instrumental chamber ensembles include Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, Saxophone Ensemble, Wind Quintet, Trombone Choir, Tuba Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble; others are offered according to demand.
