Dr. Weininger has spent his entire professional career in education. He began his career as a seventh-grade mathematics teacher in the Big Walnut School District, Sunbury, Ohio. His interest in mathematics lead him to pursue a Ph.D. in mathematics and a career as a mathematics professor at Heidelberg beginning in 1985. While at Heidelberg, he became increasingly involved in administrative work, and in 2007, he became the Vice President for Academic Affairs. In 2008, his title was changed to Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost. During this time, he served as a member of the Peer Review Corps for the Higher Learning Commission. In this capacity, he served as a member of a team that evaluates colleges and universities as part of the process institutions go through to maintain their accreditation. Dr. Weininger retired on June 30, 2015 but remains active in the campus community as a member of the Heidelberg Jazz Band.

Dr. Weininger is a member of the Mathematical Association of America and the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators.

Dr. Weininger finds service to his community to be a rewarding experience and is an active member in the Tiffin Rotary Club. He enjoys playing golf and is also an avid fly fisherman. His interest in fly fishing includes tying flies and building fly rods. Dr. Weininger and his wife, Lynda, enjoy living the country lifestyle in their home outside Tiffin.
