John Cook is an Associate Professor of Finance and has been a member of the Business, Accounting, and Economics Department since 1995. He previously taught at Bowling Green State University, the University of Kentucky, and Eastern Kentucky University. Dr. Cook graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration (1980) from Heidelberg University; an MBA (1987) from Bowling Green State University; and earned a Ph.D. in Finance (1994) from the University of Kentucky. He was employed in private industry as an accounting manager and controller. John’s teaching interests include corporate finance, investments, personal finance, and financial markets and institutions. Research interests include issues related to corporate finance, valuation, portfolio management, and agency theory and asymmetric information. He has published in the Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics and the Journal of Accounting and Finance Research.
