The Media Management major, designed in collaboration with the School of Business, focuses on the development of media content, the operations necessary for that development, and the delivery of media products to both advertisers and audiences.
Students who successfully complete the Media Management major will demonstrate a(n):
- Broad-based understanding of the artistic, institutional, and commercial implications of the media industry
- Basic competency in audience analysis (needs, expectations, and contexts), production (economics, technology, and aesthetics), management (operations, finance, and communication), and sales (persuasion, marketing, and advertising)
- Understanding of key legal and ethical issues faced by media professionals
In addition, students will develop specialized knowledge and skills based on their area of interest within media.
