ITS majors have continued on into MBA programs as well as graduate work in the social sciences and humanities.
Majoring in international studies combines courses in economics, political science, history, languages and cultures. Its global themes range from world politics to international development to political economy to cultural diversity.
The international studies major is good preparation for careers in the U.S. government, international business, global non-governmental organizations, international aid groups, the Peace Corps, the military and many other fields.
Heidelberg Senior, Emily Jones spent her last year in college away from campus. Fall semester she studied Islam and World Politics at American University in Washington, DC while interning at the Embassy of Jordan. Spring semester she attended Oxford University in England.
Emily has spent her time at Heidelberg engrossing herself in world politics and different cultures. She was the Co-Under Secretary-General for this year's Model UN of the Far West conference in San Francisco. She served on Student Senate and was a Resident Assistant. She went on two trips with Heidelberg students, one to Canada in May 2011 and another to Turkey-Greece this past May.
