Christine Maiberger has been the German Instructor at the ‘Berg for over 10 years. Prior to her Heidelberg employment she taught German at Calvert Catholic Schools for all levels for six years, and one year at Tiffin University. Christine also was the Intervention teacher for Tiffin City School at Saint Joseph’s campus. While she took a few years off teaching to raise their children she volunteered at the school library and helped students in elementary school to read. She also taught several courses at the ‘Berg during Dr. Berg’s sabbatical. Christine graduated in 1991 from Heidelberg College with a B.A. in Education and German. She still holds a current K-12 Ohio teachers license. In 2011 she completed her Master’s in Education from Heidelberg University and her research topic was “Teaching Methodologies and Assessment for Foreign or Second Language Learning in Past 60 Years”. Christine is a member of the Delta Phi Alpha German Honor Society and now initiates her own students. She mentors a teaching assistant every academic year. This assistant speaks German as his or her native language and has training in education. Christine advises the German Club and organizes four weekly tutoring sections taught by students returning from Heidelberg Germany or exchange students from Germany.

Christine was born in Switzerland, raised in Germany and completed a four year business degree in Germany. She is a residence of Tiffin, Ohio since 1988, married with her husband Steve, Vice President of Tiffin Scenic Studios. They have a son Ian and a daughter Anika. In her free time she likes to take walks with her Golden Retrievers, listens to music, cooks and travels.
