Melissa Bosma is Adjunct Instructor of Oboe at Heidelberg University, where she also performs with the faculty woodwind quintet. Currently a Specialist student at the University of Michigan with Nancy Ambrose King, Melissa is a Graduate Student Instructor and teaches oboe methods and private lessons for non-majors. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music degree in Oboe Performance from Southern Methodist University, where she studied with Erin Hannigan. She also has Master of Music degrees in both Oboe Performance and Chamber Music, from the University of Michigan.
In addition to maintaining a private studio, Ms. Bosma is an active orchestral musician and has performed with ensembles throughout Texas and Michigan, including the Las Colinas Symphony, Dallas Wind Symphony, Adrian Symphony, Arbor Opera Theatre, and the Dearborn Symphony. Also an accomplished chamber musician, Ms. Bosma attended the Sarasota Music Festival and was a Fellow at Music Academy of the West where she was a featured soloist under the baton of Grammy-nominated conductor Nicholas McGegan.
