Bachelor of Music
The Bachelor of Music degree programs provide professional training for students who pursue careers as professional musicians: performers, music educators, composers, and focus in the business of music. These degree programs offer an intense concentration of credit hours in music study; as a result, B. Mus. programs cannot be combined with a second major within the traditional four-year time frame. (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs with a major in music allow students to combine music study with a second academic area.) Graduates of Bachelor of Music degree programs often pursue graduate study, either immediately after graduation or after acquiring professional experience.
Heidelberg offers four degree plans in the Bachelor of Music program:
• Performance (Woodwinds/Brass/Percussion; Strings; Keyboard; Voice)
• Music Education (Instrumental; Strings; Keyboard, Voice)
• Theory/Composition
• Emphasis in Music Industry
