Masters of Arts in Counseling

The Master of Arts in Counseling degree program was authorized by the Ohio Board of Regents in 1988 and has been in continuous operation since that date. In 1991 Heidelberg university’s School Counselor LicensureMaster of Arts in Counseling Brochure
program was approved by the Ohio Board of Education, and in 1998 was approved for Professional Counselor and Professional Clinical Counselor Licensure by the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. The Master of Arts in Counseling program is designed to meet and exceed the academic requirements for those students who are seeking licensure as a Professional Counselor (PC), Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC), or a Professional School Counselor (PSC) in the state of Ohio. The program is dedicated to educating, preparing and mentoring students with a grounding in theory and practice in preparation to enter the counseling field. There are three program concentrations: School Counseling, Community Counseling and Dual Community/School. A variety of class formats are offered such as once a week/evening, alternate Saturdays, abbreviated online courses, and eight week classes.

The Master of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program is a 48-hour program with three available program concentrations, designed to meet the academic requirements for those students who are seeking licensure as a Professional Counselor (PC), Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC), or a Professional School Counselor (PSC) in the state of Ohio:
