Admission Requirements
Upon receipt of the following in the Graduate Studies office, your application will be complete and ready for an acceptance decision:
- Application for the MME Program
- Application fee of $25.00 paid to Heidelberg. (Waived if applied online.)
- OFFICIAL transcript(s) from ALL previously attended colleges or universities, sent DIRECTLY from the to Heidelberg showing the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from an accredited institution.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4-point scale.
- Please note: transcripts of Heidelberg graduates will already be on file.
- Three letters of recommendation.
- Photocopies of all teaching licenses or certificates held.
- Before enrolling in MUS 522 or MUS 548, you must achieve a qualifying score on the music diagnostic exam, or satisfactorily complete MUS 521 and/or MUS 547. These review courses do not count toward graduation credits.
- An interview with the Director of the MME program.
- International students must also submit:
- World Education Services (WES) Evaluation through www.wes.org of any international transcripts.
- TOEFL scores of at least 550 or equivalent (if your first language is not English).
