About the Women's Professional Development Program
The Women’s Professional Development Program is an opportunity to connect and learn from women who have made a difference in their community and careers. This innovative program is designed for college women and professional women in the community who aspire to leadership roles. Three core components comprise the program:
Conference
An introduction to pertinent career and leadership development trends. The 2007 theme was "Power with Purpose: Leaders of Today and Tomorrow," and featured keynote speaker Rebecca C. Ferguson, Assistant Vice President Human Resources at Bowling Green State University.
Plans for next year's conference, to be held on Friday, February 29, 2008, are already underway. For more information please call (419) 448-2058 or e-mail careers@heidelberg.edu.
Seminars
Professionals in the community and students discuss topics relevant to women and leadership.
Internship
Students gain an enhanced understanding of the business environment, how to apply the skills they’ve learned and earn college credit. The goal of this exciting new program is to provide students with a forum for the development of professional skills that meet the unique needs of women. In addition, we strive to promote a greater understanding of the diversity of women’s roles and experiences.
