Athletic Supporters Back the Berg
Heidelberg College athletic supporters overtook the Mohawk Country Club and Golf Course on Friday, July 25 for the fifth annual Back the Berg Golf Outing, sponsored by DDG, Inc. / D3 Development Inc. The annual outing is held as a fund raiser for the Berg athletic department and its student-athletes. Following the round of golf all players joined for a dinner at Carmie's Grill and Bar sponsored by Aramark, The Carriage Group, The James Group, Carmie's Grill & Bar - Hampton Inn and Charles Construction. .gif)
A total of 23 foursomes hit the course at Mohawk. Taking over the leader’s board was the group of Ron Linhart, Jerry McDonald, Mike Schoen and John Zitkovic. The foursome shot a 56, 16 under par, to take home the outing title. Following in a close second was the team of Ryan Wise, Brad Wolf, Matt Sands and Rudy Wolf with a 14 under par, 58.
Showing their skills off the tee was Sands with the closest to the hole on hole number five and Roy Zinn on hole number 15, while Matt Molyet and Zitkovic won long drive on hole eight and 11, respectively. Rounding out the prize hole winners was Mike Satkowiak and Keith Prize with long putt on hole nine and 18.
