'Berg Life

The athletes of Heidelberg University are looking to get more involved in the 2009-2010 academic school year.  In conjunction with SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Council), athletic teams are competing in the Berg Life competition.  Berg Life is a way for athletes to not only compete against other athletic teams at Heidelberg, but also promotes student-athlete involvement in both the Tiffin community and on campus.

Berg Life concentrates on seven key areas that are essential to student-athletes and their success at Heidelberg University.  Points are awarded, by team, according to individual athletes and team success and willingness to go above and beyond what is required.  At the end of the academic school year team points will be tallied and a winning team will be announced.

The seven key areas of the Berg Life competition include:

Academic Excellence
Points will be awarded to the teams with the highest GPA as well as individuals who earn a GPA of 2.70 and above.  Points will also be given to the team with the most improved GPA and to any individual who earns academic honors.

Athletic Achievement

SAAC Involvement
SAAC involvement is an excellent way for student-athletes to be involved and voice opinions concerning athletic issues.  In order to receive full SAAC involvement points, two members from each team must be present at all SAAC meetings.
