TIFFIN, Ohio—Sophomore right handed pitcher Chris Thomas (Canton/Perry) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference baseball pitcher of the week, announced today by the league office. Thomas made two appearances as the Berg finished the week 3-2.
Thomas allowed one hit in his lone inning of relief as Ohio Wesleyan University outslugged the Student Princes Wednesday, 13-11, in the Berg’s home opener. Thomas came back to start the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against Case Western Reserve University, allowing one run (unearned) on five hits and striking out four over 6.0 innings earn the win.
In five appearances, including four starts, this season, Thomas is 1-2 with 15 strikeouts and has pitched to a 5.33 earned run average over 27.0 innings.
