Ricardo Lizcano Named OAC Hitter of the Week

TIFFIN, Ohio—Senior shortstop Ricardo Lizcano (Toledo/Start) has been named Ohio Athletic Conference hitter of the week, announced today by the league office. Lizcano hit three home runs in three straight games and tied the school career record at 31.

Lizcano is the second Student Prince to garner a weekly honor in as many weeks, following sophomore right handed pitcher Chris Thomas (Canton/Perry), who earned pitcher of the week honors a week ago.

Lizcano batted .500 (5-for-10) for the week with seven runs batted-in and four runs scored while hitting a home run in each of three games. His solo shot in Saturday’s nightcap against Wilmington tied Aaron Fischer’s (1996-2000) career record. He also slugged 1.400 and had a whopping 2.043 on-base-plus slugging percentage. Lizcano is also three triples, 28 total bases, 35 runs, 46 runs batted in and 60 hits shy of breaking school career records.

For the season, Lizcano is batting .388 (31-for-80) with five home runs and leads the OAC with a .725 slugging percentage, ranks third with 21 RBI, and is sixth with 23 runs and a .490 on-base percentage.

D3baseball.com named Lizcano a preseason All-America earlier this year.

Heidelberg plays an OAC doubleheader Tuesday at Otterbein University in Westerville.
