Berg Baseball Holds Prospect Camp

Fall may be football season, but for the Heidelberg baseball coaching staff, it is also a great time to stay ahead of the learning curve.

The 2012 Fall Prospect Camp, September 23, 2012 in Peaceful Valley, is an opportunity for high school upper classmen to showcase their baseball skills to the Heidelberg coaching staff while learning how to play like a collegiate ball player.

“It is a good opportunity for players to show their skill that our coaching staff may not see during their high school season or summer league,” said assistant coach Jimmy Roesinger.

Since 2000, Heidelberg has secured nine Ohio Athletic Conferences Championships with five regular season championships and four conference tournament championships. In those 12 years the Berg boasts a .698 overall winning percentage for all games and a .709 winning percentage in the OAC. Heidelberg has competed in five regional tournaments since 2004 and advanced to the regional championship game in three of the last five seasons.

Heidelberg has produced 21 All-Americans and 45 All-Region players while placing 106 players on the All-OAC teams including 45 first-team honorees. Heidelberg has also produced 78 academic awards including the 2010 Elite 88 award winner.
