Heidelberg Football Releases 2013 Schedule Four of the first five games of the 2013 Heidelberg University football schedule will be at home as the Student Princes look to build off of a successful 2012 campaign. Heidelberg hosts Alma College for the season opener on September 7 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be the fourth straight season-opening clash between the schools. The Student Princes have won all three previous matchups, including a 34-28 overtime win in Tiffin in 2011. After a bye week, Heidelberg welcomes Ohio Northern to Mayer Field for a 2 p.m. clash on September 21. The meeting with the Polar Bears also marks Fellows Day and the third annual Bendekovic Bowl. The “Bendo Bowl” is played in honor of the late Ronnie and Jason Bendekovic, brothers who were assistant coaches for ONU and Heidelberg at the time of their passing.
