Lindsey Picks Up OAC Honor

Austintown, Ohio – October 26, 2009 – Freshman defensive end Dewayne Lindsey (Dayton, Ohio / Meadowdale) of the Heidelberg University football team has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 26, 2009.

Lindsey helped guide Heidelberg to a 41-36 homecoming victory over Baldwin-Wallace College Oct. 24. It was the third-straight victory for the Berg over the Yellow Jackets.

In the win, Lindsey finished with four tackles, but more impressive was his fumble recovery that he returned 63 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. It was Lindsey’s first collegiate score. The defensive touchdown was the second on the year for the Berg. Lindsey also added two quarterback hurries and a pass break up.

Next up for the Berg is a road contest at Wilmington College on Halloween. Kick off is set for 1:30 p.m.
