Lewis Picks Up Second Straight Weekly Honor

Austintown, Ohio – November 9, 2009 – For the second-straight week Heidelberg University senior tailback Jemar Lewis (Bedford Heights, Ohio / Bedford) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Lewis helped Heidelberg to a 42-14 win over Marietta College on Saturday at Mayer Field. The game was played on Heidelberg’s campus, which marked the first time in 64 seasons that the team has played a home football contest on campus.

For the second-straight week, Lewis ran for a career-best. He finished with a career-high 169 yards in 18 attempts. He also added a catch for 33 yards to finish with 202 all-purpose yards. Lewis registered touchdown runs of two and seven yards. It was the fourth-consecutive game that Lewis has eclipsed 100 yards on the ground.

Heidelberg (4-5, 3-5 OAC) closes out its 2009 season against Muskingum University Saturday, Nov. 14. The game will also be played at Mayer Field and will be Senior Day. Lewis, along with 11 of his teammates, will be recognized prior to the game for their contributions to the program over the course of the last four years.
