Andrew Miller Tabbed OAC Offensive Player of the Week

Austintown, Ohio – October 4, 2010 – Senior quarterback Andrew Miller (Dalton, Ohio / Dalton) of the Heidelberg University football team has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 4, 2010. He is the first ’Berg football student-athlete to be honored this season.

Miller had a career outing in a 60-50 setback at Capital University on Saturday. He completed 30-of-52 passes for 569 yards. Along the way he threw for seven touchdowns. Miller also added 18 yards rushing.

In the Heidelberg single game record book Miller set a new record for passing yards, topping the previous mark of 487 thrown by Jim Newland in 1994. His 30 completions tied Shane Fulton’s mark from 1985. The seven TD passes tops his single game record of six from 2008.

Within the OAC, Miller overtook the single game record section for passing yards, as well as total offensive yards. He topped Newland’s mark for passing, along with Newland’s record of 567 total offensive yards from 1994 with 587 of his own.

In the Heidelberg career annuals, Miller also topped the passing touchdown record over the weekend. For his career he has thrown for 57 TD’s, which overtook Fulton’s record of 50.

For the year, Miller has completed 91-of-154 passes for 1,424 yards. He has thrown for 15 touchdowns and is averaging 356.0 yards a game.
