Preston Earns Little All-American Honor

New York, N.Y. – December 17, 2010 – Senior wide receiver Mike Preston (Euclid, Ohio / Euclid) of the Heidelberg University football team continues to add to his resume following his stellar 2010 campaign. On Thursday, Dec. 16, Preston was named to the Associated Press Little All-American Third Team. The All-American Team consists of the top student-athletes from NCAA Division II, III and NAIA institutions.

Preston’s honor marks the 42nd All-American in the history of the Berg football program and he is just the fourth Little All-American. He joins 1955 honorees Walter Livingston, Bruce Miller and Jerry Zimmerman.

The Little All-American recognition comes on the heels of becoming the first American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American at the Berg. Preston was also named to the OhioCollegeFootball.com Team and the D3football.com North Region Team. Within the OAC, Preston was named the Ed Sherman Most Outstanding Receiver after earning a spot on the first team for the second straight year.
