Hallett Announces Release of 2011 Football Schedule

Tiffin, Ohio – May 11, 2011 – Heidelberg University head football coach Mike Hallett has announced the release of the 2011 schedule. The Berg is set to host five home contests at Mayer Field, on the campus of Heidelberg, while rounding out its slate with five road games. Included in the mix are nine Ohio Athletic Conference outings.

Heidelberg opens the second straight season against Alma College. Alma visits Mayer Field Sept. 3 to kick the 2011 campaign off for both sides.

Following a bye week, the Berg opens up OAC action with two consecutive on the road. OAC play begins at Baldwin-Wallace College Sept. 17 followed by a trip to Otterbein University Sept. 24.

The month of October opens with homecoming and Fellow Day on the first against Capital University. Its contest with the Crusaders is followed by road games at Muskingum University (Oct. 8) and Marietta College (Oct. 15), along with home contests with University of Mount Union (Oct. 15) and Wilmington College (Oct. 29) mixed in.

The regular season concludes in November with a league game at John Carroll University (Nov. 5) and hosting Ohio Northern University (Nov. 12) on Senior Day.

In 2010 Heidelberg closed out the year winners of three of its last four games to stand at 5-5 overall. Its .500 record marked the best record since posting an identical mark in 1997. Within the OAC, Heidelberg went 4-5.
