Rutter Tabbed OAC Hitter Of The Week
Senior Alex Rutter (Bowling Green, Ohio / Bowling Green) of the Heidelberg College baseball team has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 30, 2007.
In a 2-2 week for the Berg Rutter hit a team-high .615 (8-for-13) and knocked in a team-best six RBI. Rutter also scored three times. Defensively Rutter was a perfect on the diamond in 30 chances, recording a team-high 28 put outs.
In a split at nationally-ranked Marietta, Rutter went 4-for-8 from the plate, including a 3-for-5 showing in a 16-7 game two victory. In game two, Rutter knocked in four of Heidelberg’s 16 runs.
Rutter returned on Sunday at Baldwin-Wallace and recorded four hits, with three coming in game two. He also scored twice on the day.
For the season, Rutter leads the team with 39 RBI, while is tied for second with 51 hits and is third with a .375 batting average and 29 runs scored.
Heidelberg currently boasts an overall record of 24-12 and an 11-5 Ohio Athletic Conference mark.
