Calevro Named Academic All-District

Steve Calevro (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg) has been named to the Second Team CoSIDA / ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District IV baseball list. Calevro, a senior right-handed pitcher for Heidelberg College, maintains a 3.39 GPA while majoring in History at the Berg. He is set to graduate on Sunday, May 12, one day after the finals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament in which the no. 1 seeded Student Princes are currently competing for a NCAA Regional berth.

During the program’s 2008 campaign, Calevro holds a perfect 5-0 record for the Berg along with a team-high six saves. His ERA of 1.74 after making team-leading 18 appearances on the mound is good enough for second in the bullpen, while he has allowed a team-low six earned runs for the season and struck out 24. For his career, Calevro holds an ERA of 4.13 and stands at 15-3 overall after making 50 appearances on the mound.

Heidelberg faces off next at 4 p.m. today, May 9, against the Otterbein College to decide who will be competing against Marietta College in the final round of the OAC Tournament tomorrow, May 10, at noon in Tiffin, Ohio.
