Boytim Picks Up OAC Weekly Honor

Senior first baseman Biagio Boytim (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) of the Heidelberg University baseball team has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the week of March 20, 2009. Boytim is the second ’Berg player to earn a weekly award, joining fellow classmate David Paddock (Westerville, Ohio / North). Paddock was tabbed the OAC Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 16, 2009.
 
In a 2-0 week for the Berg, Boytim hit .889, with eight hits in nine at bats. He finished with a double and a triple, while knocking in seven runs and scoring four runs of his own. In the field he was equally impressive carrying a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with 18 putouts and one assist.
 
On Tuesday, Heidelberg returned to the win column with an 11-6 win at Denison University. At the plate Boytim went 4-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.
 
In a 21-2 win at Case Western Reserve University on Wednesday, Boytim was as perfect 4-for-4 in the batters box. He registered a double and a triple on the day. Boytim knocked in five runs and scored two.
 
Heidelberg is currently ranked 12th in the nation according to D3baseball.com. Overall the Berg boasts a record of 13-5 under the guidance of 10th-year head coach Matt Palm.
