Tiffin, Ohio – September 7, 2010 – Third-year head coach Anthony Gholson has announced the release of the 2010-2011 Heidelberg University men’s basketball schedule. Heidelberg’s 2010-2011 slate features 18 Ohio Athletic Conference matches, along with two in-season tournaments. Heidelberg will host 10 home games at Seiberling Gymnasium.
A season ago, Heidelberg had an overall record of 15-13 and posted a 9-9 mark against OAC foes. The Berg made its 49th appearance, fourth-overall in the OAC Tournament where they played in its seventh OAC Tournament championship game.
Heidelberg will tip-off the year at the Calvin Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Calvin College, Nov. 19-20. Joining the Berg and Calvin will be Grace Bible College (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Ohio Wesleyan University.
The Berg then has three straight away games against Albion College (Nov.23), Trine University (Nov. 27), and Baldwin-Wallace College (Dec.1).
Heidelberg’s first home game will be against OAC foe Wilmington College on Dec. 4. The game will be televised by Sports Time Ohio.
It will host Alma College (Dec. 8) before hitting the road again for a four straight games which includes the Wittenberg Tournament on Dec. 29-30. The Berg will face Muskingum University (Dec. 11), Capital University (Dec. 18), and Ohio Northern University (Jan. 5).
The Berg will then settle at home for the next seven of eight games, consisting of Marietta College (Jan. 8), Otterbein College (Jan. 12), the University of Mount Union (Jan. 15), John Carroll University (Jan. 19), Baldwin-Wallace (Jan. 26), and Muskingum (Jan. 29). Its away game will be at Wilmington (Jan. 22).
Home game against John Carroll (Feb. 2) starts off the month of February, before traveling to Capital (Feb. 5) and Ohio Northern (Feb. 9).
Heidelberg closes out the regular season with three home games against Marietta (Feb. 12), Otterbein (Feb. 16), and Mount Union (Feb. 19).
