TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University men’s basketball team will take to the road for the first time this season when it takes on Albion (Mich.) College on Tuesday, Nov. 22 in a non-conference game at Kresge Gym in Albion, Mich. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
The ‘Berg (1-1) is coming off a split at its inaugural ‘Berg Alumni Classic season tip-off tournament, defeating Ohio State – Lima, 89-72, but losing to Thomas More (Ky.) College, 84-63. Sophomore forward Victor Fortkamp (St. Henry) and senior guard Darion Capers (Clayton/Trotwood-Madison) were named to the all-tournament team after combining for 62 points and 17 rebounds over the two-game tournament.
Through two games this season, four Student Princes—Fortkamp (16.0), Capers (15.0), junior forward Nate Davis (Dayton/Stivers) (10.5) and sophomore guard Mike Petrie (Columbus/Beechcroft) (10.5)—are averaging double-digit scoring per game. Davis leads the team with 9.0 rebounds per game.
Albion (1-1) enters tomorrow’s contest following a 78-67 loss to Grace (Ind.) College. Kolin Kazen is the Briton’s top scorer and rebounder, averaging 25.0 ppg and 4.0 rpg. Anthony Wash and Sean Hendon each tally 11.0 ppg.
Following the tilt with Albion, the Berg will enjoy a week layoff before opening Ohio Athletic Conference play against Capital University on Nov. 30.
