Lemmon Wins Weekly Honor
Andrew Lemmon (Port Clinton, Ohio / Port Clinton) of the Heidelberg College men’s basketball team has been awarded Player of the Week honors by the Ohio Athletic Conference for the week of January 7, 2008. Lemmon is a senior forward for the Student Princes and contributed 20 points to the Berg’s 67-55 win over Washington and Jefferson last week.
Overall, Lemmon is third on the team in scoring, averaging 12.5 points per game and leads the team with an average of 8.5 rebounds per contest. He is the second Student Prince this season to receive the OAC weekly honor; teammate Brian Schmidt (Hinckley, Ohio / Brunswick) earned the honor for the week of Dec. 10 after recording two-straight double-doubles.
Heidelberg stands at 9-2 on the year, 3-1 in the OAC. The team resumes OAC action next Wednesday when it entertains John Carroll University in a 7:30 p.m. match up in Seiberling Gymnasium, the home court of the Berg. The Student Princes contest with the Blue Streaks marks just the third home contest on the year and the first since Dec. 5.
