A Lemmon free throw extended the Berg lead to 15 points, 29-14, with 7:35 to play before the half. John Carroll scored four unanswered points to pull within 11 points, but Heidelberg responded with a 28-9 outburst over the final five minutes to take a 51-27 lead into the locker room. During Heidelberg’s first half spurt to close out the period Lemmon contributed eight points, while Shriver added six points from long range.

In the second half, John Carroll battled back to pull within 13 points on three separate occasions over the first 10 minutes, but could not get any closer. A Tyson lay up with 4:39 to play in the game pushed Heidelberg’s lead to 30 points, 91-61, and the Berg cruised to a 104-72 win.

Heidelberg, under the guidance of head coach Duane Sheldon, continues its trek through the OAC when it travels to Otterbein College Saturday, Jan. 12 for a 7:30 p.m. contest. The Berg will only be on the road for one game, as it will return to Tiffin beginning Jan. 16 against Capital University at 7:30 p.m. The game with the Crusaders marks the first of four-straight at home.
