Men's Basketball Schedule Released

Second-year Heidelberg University head men’s basketball coach Anthony Gholson has announced the release of the 2009-10 schedule. Its 25-game regular season slate features 18 Ohio Athletic Conference contests, along with three in-season tournaments. Along the way Heidelberg will host 10 opponents in Seiberling Gymnasium, the home of ’Berg basketball.
 
Heidelberg will tip-off the year at the Al Van Wie / Rotary Tournament hosted by the College of Wooster Nov. 20-21. Joining the Berg and Wooster will be Carnegie Mellon University and St. Thomas College (Minn.).
 
Its first home game is Nov. 24 against non-conference foe Albion College, before hitting the road for the Radisson / Carnegie Mellon Invitational. The invitational is hosted by Carnegie Mellon and will take place Nov. 28-29. Also taking part in the invitational will be Hood College and Manhattanville College
 
The month of December opens with Heidelberg’s first OAC game. Heidelberg will travel to Otterbein College (Dec. 2) before hosting four-consecutive league foes. Ohio Northern University begins the four-game home stand Dec. 5 followed by Marietta College (Dec. 12), Baldwin-Wallace College (Dec. 16) and Mount Union College (Dec. 19). December concludes in Eau Claire, Wisc. at the Wisc.-Eau Claire Tournament Dec. 28-29.
 
Heidelberg is slated to play seven contests during January, but have just two home outings. Wilmington College visits Tiffin Jan. 9 to kick off the month. Following the outing with the Quakers, Heidelberg faces a four-game road trip that includes games at John Carroll University (Jan. 13), Muskingum University (Jan. 16), Capital University (Jan. 20) and Mount Union (Jan. 23). The Berg hosts Otterbein Jan. 27 before closing out the month at Ohio Northern Jan. 30.
 
Games at Baldwin- Wallace (Feb. 3) and at Marietta (Feb. 6) opens up February. The regular season comes to a close with three of its last four outings at home. Capital comes to town Feb. 10, along with John Carroll (Feb. 17) and Muskingum (Feb. 20). Heidelberg’s final regular season road game is at Wilmington Feb. 13.
