Roberts Announces Cross Country Slate

Tiffin, Ohio - June 30, 2010 - Third year head coach Keith Roberts Jr. of the Heidelberg University men’s and women’s cross country teams has announced the release of its 2010 schedule. Both sides are slated to take part in six outings on the year followed by the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional and a possible appearance at the NCAA Championship.

The year opens up with the annual Heidelberg Invitational Sept. 4 followed by a trip to Bowling Green, Ohio for the Mel Brodt Invitational.

After a weekend off, Heidelberg will take part in the Otterbein Invitational Sept. 25 hosted by the Cardinals of Otterbein College.

The month of October begins at the All-Ohio Championships on the first before the Berg takes part in the Inter-Regional Rumble at Oberlin College Oct. 16.

Heidelberg will strive to close out the month of October as the Ohio Athletic Conference champions when they participate in the OAC Championships at Otterbein. The men’s team will look to defend its third title, while the women are in search of its first in the history of the program.

Hope College in Holland, Mich. will be the host institution for the Great Lakes Regional (Nov. 13) in 2010. The top-two teams at the regional advance to the NCAA Championship Nov. 20 via an automatic bid. The men’s team took home runner-up honors a season ago. Overall the men have made seven appearances, four consecutive, at nationals.
