Butcher Named Runner of the Week

Heidelberg cross country runner Devin Butcher (Bowling Green, Ohio / Bowling Green) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for his third place finish at the Otterbein Invitational over the weekend. Butcher crossed the finish line in just four seconds outside of first and ahead of runners from six other OAC schools in attendance. Three weekends ago, Butcher won the Carl Broughton Invitational in Marietta, Ohio, completing the race in 27:45.84

As a team, the men finished sixth out of 21 teams, just behind OAC opponent Mount Union College, but in front of five other conference members. It was the second top-10 finish for the Berg this year. Heidelberg races next at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. on Saturday, October 3.
