Cross Country Competes at All-Ohio
The sun came out and provided a little relief from the cold spell that recently swept through just in time for the Heidelberg cross country teams to participate in the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
Devin Butcher (Bowling Green, Ohio / Bowling Green ) once again led the way for the men, who finished eighth out of 20 teams. Butcher ran his way across the finish line in 26:14.9, just in time for a third place finish. John Distler (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) crossed the line in 27:52.0, Jacob Lemon (Oak Harbor, Ohio / Oak Harbor) in 28:09.4, and Jarrod Saling (Caldwell, Ohio / Caldwell) in 28:11.8. Jamie Kuess (Coldwater, Ohio / Coldwater) rounded out the top-five for the Berg in a time of 28:19.0.
The women maintained there place from year before, finishing in 15th place out of 19 teams. Erica Tenwalde (Ada, Ohio / Lima Shawnee) shot out in front for the Berg, completing the race in 21:32.6. Meanwhile, Tabitha Grim (Sullivan, Ohio / Black River) ran the race in 21:35.7, Ninette Ruch (Toledo, Ohio / Notre Dame Academy) in 21:59.8, and Elizabeth Richards (London, Ohio / London) in 23:24.2. Filling out the five spot for the women was Casey Edgington (Sycamore, Ohio / Mohawk), who finished in a time of 24:03.9.
Heidelberg races next at the Short Course Tune-up hosted by the Berg on Friday, October 24 at 4:00 p.m.
