Butcher Earns Weekly Honor

Austintown, Ohio – September 28, 2009 – Senior Devin Butcher (Bowling Green, Ohio / Bowling Green) of the Heidelberg University men’s cross country team has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for the week of September 28, 2009. It is the first runner of the week honor in 2009 for Butcher and it’s his third award of his career.
 
On Saturday Butcher helped guide Heidelberg’s nationally-ranked men’s program to a third place finish at the Otterbein Invitational.
 
 In the field of 175 runners, ranging from NCAA Division II and III to junior college entries, Butcher took home the individual championship, finishing the 8k course in 26:08.6.  
 
Next up for Heidelberg and second-year head coach Keith Roberts Jr. is the All-Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University Oct. 2.
