Heidelberg Selected Ninth In OAC Coaches' Poll
The Heidelberg College football team was picked ninth in the 2007 Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Head coaches at all 10 OAC institutions, along with student-athlete representatives and media gathered at the 2007 OAC Football Media Day held at the Quest Center in Columbus, Ohio. In a poll of 36 media members, Heidelberg was selected 10th.
Nine-time national champion Mount Union College earned the top spot in both polls, followed by Capital University in the coaches’ poll and Ohio Northern University in the media poll.
Heidelberg is under the guidance of first-year head coach Mike Hallett. Returning for Heidelberg are 36 letter winners, including 15 starters. Joining Hallett at the luncheon was senior quarterback Steve West (Huron, Ohio / Huron).
The Berg’s 2007 slate features six home contests beginning with its season opener against Oberlin College Sept. 8 beginning at 1:30 p.m.
