Markley Leads Men's Golf at 2012 OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio--Senior Zak Markley (Williamsville, N.Y./Williamsville South) carded a four-round total of 320 strokes to lead the Heidelberg University men's golf team at the 2012 Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.  The Student Princes finished in eighth place with a total of 1,301 strokes.

In addition to Markley, who finished in 30th place individually, senior Brian Cline (Mentor) tallied 323 strokes to finish in a tie for 31st.  Senior Corey Pierson (Troy) placed 36th with a total of 328, followed in 40th by junior Troy Keller (Tiffin/Calvert), who carded a 342, and senior Ryan Treese (Delaware/Hayes) with 345 strokes, good for 41st place.

Otterbein University won the team title with 1,213 strokes.  Otterbein's Ben Adam's was the OAC medalist, winning a playoff and finishing with 299 strokes.
