COLUMBIA STATION, Ohio - The Heidelberg University men’s golf team took on the bulk of Ohio Athletic Conference opponents at the 2013 OAC Fall Invitational in Columbia Station, Ohio. Baldwin Wallace University played host of the two day invitational, which was played over 6,404 yards of Columbia Hills Country Club’s par 71 18-holes.
Otterbein University took top honors at the Fall Invitational shooting a team total of 286 followed by the University of Mount Union’s 293 and John Carroll’s 306.
Freshman Andres Martinez led the Student Princes in Columbia Station shooting a pair of 81’s on Saturday and Sunday. Sophomore Jack Eifel’s 82 on Saturday and 83 on Sunday gave him a two day total of 165 for the Berg.
Sophomore Chase Hushour finished with a two day total of 168 (85-83) while freshman Chase Kloepel carded a 170 (90-80) in his first OAC competition. Freshman Justin Lutes rounded out the Berg’s five golfers with a first round 85 on Saturday and an 86 18-hole total on Sunday.
The Heidelberg men will return to action on Sunday, September 29 when they travel to Alliance, Ohio to play in the Mount Union Invitational. The Mount Invitational with be a two day tournament, played at Tannenhauf Golf Club on Sunday, followed by another 18-hole at Alliance Country Club on Monday.
