Men's Golf takes Seventh at OAC Spring Invite

The Heidelberg College men’s golf team finished seventh at the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference Spring Invitational hosted by Muskingum College at the River Greens Golf Club in West Lafayette, Ohio April 12-13.

Heidelberg combined to fire a two-day total of 933, highlighted by its second round total of 300. Taking home the team title was Otterbein College with an 886 (298, 295, 293) followed by John Carroll University with an 896 (304, 301, 291).

Zack Koinis (Vermilion, Ohio / Vermilion) led the way for the Berg, finishing in a tie for 17th after shooting a 225. Koinis opened up the invitational with a 78 and improved each round, closing with a 74 followed by a 73.

Kevin Lenhart (Arlington, Ohio / Arlington) rounded out two in the top-25 with a tie for 22nd. Lenhart finished the two-day invitational with a 229 (78, 75, 76). Chad Waleryszak (Fremont, Ohio / Fremont Ross) shot a 243 (83, 76, 84), good enough for 45th.

Rounding out Heidelberg’s golfers on the day was David Lilly (Greencastle, Ind. / Greencastle) and Craig Meyer (Norwalk, Ohio / St. Paul). Lilly carded a 244 (87, 75, 82) and Meyer shot a 246 (86, 83, 77).

Heidelberg returns to the green at the Nye Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Wooster April 18-19. The invitational will take place at the Wooster County Club.
