Heidelberg Out Shoots OAC Foes
While they may have only come in sixth place out of eleven teams at the Ohio Wesleyan Fall Intercollegiate, the men of the Heidelberg College golf team, led by head coach Jim Troha, managed to place higher than all five other Ohio Athletic Conference teams who participated.
Freshman standout Zack Koinis (Vermillion, Ohio / Vermillion) was also the highest placing OAC golfer. He tied for sixth place with a combined score of 145, it is his second top ten finish this season. Koinis shot for par on his first 18 holes with a score of 71 and only missed it by three shots on the second round.
Rounding out the group for the Student Princes were David Lilly (Greencastle, Ind. / Greencastle) with a score of 159, Kevin Lenhart (Arlington, Ohio / Arlington) who shot 161, Zak Markley (Williamsville, N.Y. / Williamsville South) at 164, and Chris Maczko (Northfield, Ohio / Nordonia) who finished at 167.
The men compete next at the Match Play Event hosted by Ohio Northern University on Sept. 26.
