Men’s Golf Places Seventh at Mount Union Fall Invite
Freshman Zack Koinis (Vermilion, Ohio / Vermilion) shot a team best 156 (76, 80) to help lead the Heidelberg College men’s golf team to a seventh place finish at the Mount Union Fall Invite. The invite was a two-day affair being held the first day at the Tannenhauf Golf Club and at the Alliance Country Club the second. Ohio Athletic Conference foe John Carroll University won the event with a score of 595, Heidelberg shot a cumulative 643.
Koinis tied for 19th, while David Lilly (Greencastle, Ind. / Greencastle) shot a 77 on the first round and an 80 in round two for a total of 157, good enough to tie for 24th.
Also shooting for the Berg were Kevin Lenhart (Arlington, Ohio / Arlington) with a final score of 164 (80, 84), Zak Markley (Williamsville, N.Y. / Williamsville South) shot a 166 (83, 83), and Craig Meyer (Norwalk, Ohio / St. Paul) recorded a score of 178 (87, 91).
The men return to the green Oct. 6 and 7 for their final competition of the fall at the Denison Fall Invite at the Granville Golf Club in Granville, Ohio.
