Men's Golf Takes Third at Manchester

Paced by a runner-up finish from Zack Koinis (Vermilion, Ohio / Vermilion) the Heidelberg College men’s golf team finished third in the field of eight at the 2008 Manchester College Fall Invitational on Monday, Sept. 15. The event was played at the Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash, Ind. As a team Heidelberg shot a 608, placing behind champion Centre College (577) and a second Centre College team (593).
 
Koinis fired a 141, one under par, to finish in second place. He stood just three strokes out of first. Backing Koinis with a top-10 finish was Kevin Lenhart (Arlington, Ohio / Arlington) with a 149 (75, 74), good enough for a tie for seventh.
 
Standing 15th with a 154 (78, 76) was David Lilly (Greencastle, Ind. / Greencastle), while Sam Arnold and Craig Meyer (Norwalk, Ohio / St. Paul) rounded out the scoring for Heidelberg with a 164 (82, 82) and a 173 (90, 83), respectively. Arnold stood tied for 35th and Meyer was 49th.
